About Alaska Federation of Natives
The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) serves as the largest statewide Native organization in Anchorage, AK, representing a comprehensive network of Alaska's Indigenous communities. AFN's membership encompasses 168 federally recognized tribes, 166 village corporations, 8 regional corporations, and 12 regional nonprofit and tribal consortiums that collectively contract and compact to deliver federal and state programs throughout Alaska. The federation's infrastructure supports member organizations in running essential services and programs that strengthen Alaska Native communities and promote self-determination. Whether through direct advocacy, program coordination, or resource sharing among its member tribes and corporations, AFN provides essential leadership and organizational capacity for Alaska's Native peoples. Based in Anchorage, AFN continues to be the unified voice for Alaska's Indigenous communities on matters of regional and statewide significance.
