About American Indian Christian Mission

AICM exists to: “Evangelize and Equip Native Americans for Christ.” Evangelism: Our purpose is to help Native Americans become aware of God and to bring them into a saving knowledge of His Son, Jesus Christ. We teach that accepting Christ is the only way one can be saved. We accomplish this in a 3-fold ministry; The AICM boarding school, outreach to families of students, and Blue Bus ministry.

The American Indian Christian Mission administration has been clarifying what the ministry of AICM will and will not do. We believe that the problems on the reservations are not any different than the problems most communities face. We identify the root of these problems as rebellion against God (sin). The result of this rebellion is a breakdown of the family, addictions, abuse, and neglect. AICM’s focus is on the Navajo and the White Mountain Apache people, and these three truths explain why we continue to take the hope of Jesus Christ to these communities.
1. We believe in order to make a truly positive change in a culture, including the culture of drugs and alcohol, the people of that culture must change in a positive way.
2. We believe that 2 Cor. 5:17 “Those that are in Christ Become a new creation and old things have gone and the new has begun” is for the Navajo and Apache along with everyone else in the world.
3. Therefore, we believe that Christ First and a good education second is the only hope of making a lasting, positive impact that will transform a culture from within.

The long-time purpose of “Evangelizing and Equipping Native Americans for Christ” is a broad statement. We all need to know WHO we work with and HOW we serve, so that we can all work together as a team. We have prayerfully defined the boundaries of each area of ministry AICM has been called to do. We have refined the purpose, intent and vision of AICM into a 3-fold focus of ministry.

First our AICM School is a Christian Boarding school designed to produce well educated Christian leaders that will positively affect their communities and culture.

Second, we are to take the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ directly to the families of our students and minister to all as a family unit. We can love and protect them while they are on the AICM campus, but if we really want to provide a lasting impact, we need to be in their homes showing them how Jesus can transform a family and set them free from the bondage of addictions and hopelessness.

Third, our Apache Christian Connection or Blue Bus ministry ties in as a way to connect with the parents, recruit our students and provide a source of constantly presenting the Gospel message through Bible lessons to the Native communities throughout the week.

If we can continue to do this well, Jesus WILL be named Savior to the Native American people and our Father in Heaven will be glorified.
