American Indian Mothers Inc. (AIMI) is a comprehensive social support organization serving Red Springs, NC and seventeen counties throughout North Carolina. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, AIMI provides multifaceted programs and services addressing education, health, social services, agriculture, and cultural needs for Native American and minority communities. The organization operates from its location at 120 South Main in Red Springs, offering specialized programs including job training and placement services, health education, nutrition and fitness counseling, and HIV referral and case management. AIMI delivers continuing education programs, services referral coordination, and counseling services for substance use and alcoholism utilizing traditional principles and practices of the First Peoples. The organization operates the Three Sisters Farm, Cannery and Co-op—North Carolina's first American Indian Organic Farm and Training Facility—providing agricultural training and fresh produce year-round. Additional service areas include the Circle of Life transitional housing and health program for individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions, the Ladies of the Light 24-month transitional housing program, and Project Pride, a multicultural youth program. AIMI also provides performing arts and cultural enrichment programs, youth ambassadors training, nutritional meal programs, and a 24/7 crisis line for emergency support. With a dedicated staff of ten and numerous volunteers, AIMI serves an estimated 30,000 Native and Non-Native Americans across the state, with funding partnerships including USDA, HRSA, Rural Coalition, and various state health and wellness organizations.
