About Native American Community Development Institute

The Native American Community Development Institute (NACDI) is a multi-issue, asset-based organization serving Minneapolis, MN and the broader Native American community through integrated pathways of community engagement, organizing, community development, and Indigenous arts and culture. Since 2007, NACDI has facilitated systems change by leveraging shared Native values, traditions, and practices to shift power dynamics and influence policy at the community level.

NACDI's comprehensive service offerings include All My Relations Arts, which presents four annual exhibits alongside tours, presentations, and programs such as the Native Authors Program and We Are Still Here Cohort. The organization also operates Four Sisters Food Sovereignty initiatives, encompassing the Four Sisters Farmers Market and Four Sisters Urban Farm, which provide increased access to affordable, healthy, culturally appropriate local foods within the American Indian Cultural Corridor. Additionally, NACDI manages Make Voting A Tradition (MVAT), a culturally specific, year-round, multi-generational civic engagement program now in its eighth year of operation focused on increasing voter turnout.

As a community asset, NACDI gathers Indigenous vision, organizes collective action, and measures community impact through strategic partnerships with Native and non-Native individuals and organizations. The organization grounds all work in the assets, values, and practices of Native people, promoting innovative community development strategies that strengthen the overall sustainability and well-being of American Indian people and communities across Minneapolis and beyond.
