The organization delivers traditional, cultural, educational, family, community, and wellness-driven initiatives designed to address the unique needs of Native American populations in Ohio. NAICCO's programs and services are rooted in authentic Indigenous values and the medicine wheel teachings, ensuring that all offerings reflect the expressed concerns and priorities of the Native community. The center serves as a vital resource for urban Native Americans who may be geographically distant from their ancestral homelands, providing a space where intertribal community members can gather, connect, and strengthen their cultural identity. Through NAICCO Cuisine, Land Back NAICCO, and other specialized programs, the organization actively works to preserve balance in the lives of Native People while promoting healing, pride, and holistic wellbeing. Recognized as one of five nonprofits to watch in 2024 by The Columbus Foundation, NAICCO continues the legacy established by founder Selma Sully-Walker in 1975 and has been revitalized under the dedicated leadership of current directors Masami and Ty Smith, both tribally enrolled members of The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
