Red Eagle Soaring

Red Eagle Soaring is a Seattle, WA-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Native American youth through integrated performing arts programming. Since 1991, the organization has provided free, comprehensive theatre education combining contemporary and traditional Native performing arts to youth ages 10-19 in the Seattle community. The program delivers hands-on training in technical theatre production, performance techniques, and creative expression while addressing critical social issues affecting Native youth and their families.

The organization's core services include mentorship-driven theatre productions, cultural arts instruction, and community engagement programming designed to build confidence, identity, and leadership skills among participants. Red Eagle Soaring has successfully mentored hundreds of Native youth and produced over 180 theatrical productions, creating a vibrant community of artists and cultural practitioners. For alumni ages 20 and older, the organization offers YTT (Yesterday/Today/Tomorrow) Urban Native Performing Artists programming, extending support and creative opportunities throughout participants' lives.

Beyond performance training, Red Eagle Soaring facilitates meaningful dialogue between Native youth and their families about issues affecting their lives, providing a supportive cultural peer group grounded in traditional Native cultural traditions. The organization recognizes the healing power of cultural engagement and uses theatre as a vehicle for social, physical, and intellectual development.
